Blindness is just as bad

 Earlier, I was watching one of my favorite shows: Switched at Birth. If you don't know the show, it's a teen drama about two girls being switched at birth. One of the girls is deaf, so there is a lot of Sign language and issues regarding to being deaf (besides the point though).

  When watching my favorite shows, I seem to notice little things other than the main points of the shows. One thing I did notice that many others may have not noticed was one of the character's blindness to one of the main character's (Daphne) deafness. I don't mean actual blindness,but I mean blind to the fact that Daphne is deaf and all that entails. 

  In one scene, the girl(I forget her name) tells Daphne how she has it so easy and gets perks, one of the being advance notes. Now she gets these notes because she is deaf and can't keep up with what the teacher is saying. My point is that the girl thinks that Daphne gets it easy but she gets enough, so that she can keep up with the others and not fall behind. The girl fails to see that.

   Its like that with race also. Some races (I don't want to pick on white people because other races do it too) don't realize that they are not equal. Yes, sometimes Blacks or Hispanics get treated differently because we are different. I believe failing to see that( being color blind) is as bad as being prejudice. 

   I know some have heard this before. I just want to put a little more to it. It's not all about race. It's also being blind to the difference of others. Being deaf, blind, disabled of any kind is just the same. I'm not saying pity these people, I'm saying notice that they are different and be kind. JUST BE KIND!!!
